Leading On - Flexible Working: Let's get flexible!

Flexible working is so much more than just part-time or remote/hybrid working. Used well, it can be a fantastic recruitment and retention tool that can also help to improve staff wellbeing, but it can be overlooked or avoided.  This session aims to help schools and colleges see the benefits from flexible working and embrace the opportunities it offers, rather than avoid it.

Delegates will also receive information on wellbeing for school and college leaders and how flexible working can support wellbeing.

This webinar will give an overview of the many different elements of flexible working and look at ways that schools can implement them. It will also cover the relevant legislation and policies related to flexible working, including the potential implications from the recent government consultation.

Emma Turner will provide information on the support available to schools from the Flexible Working Ambassador Schools which includes practical support and guidance through coaching and advising, and supporting schools to address challenges, offer more flexible working opportunities and embed a positive culture towards it.

Representatives from the DfE will provide information on the Education Staff Wellbeing Charter and its commitment to championing flexible working, and also how schools can sign up to the charter.

Participants will:

  •  understand the legislation and policies related to flexible working
  • identify the benefits and practical ways to overcome perceived barriers to flexible working in schools
  • understand  how flexible working can support wellbeing and how schools can sign up to the Education Staff Wellbeing Charter
