Leading for Outstanding Staff Wellbeing

"A real 'practice-changer'. Made me reflect on my behaviour and take a step back. One of the most powerful courses I have been on." | (Past delegate)

With school budgets under pressure, recruitment challenges, and the need to do more with less, staff wellbeing is a key priority.

Drawing on evidence, this one-day course will enable leaders to understand what has the biggest impact on staff wellbeing, and where energies are best focused to improve outcomes and benefits for staff and students.

Delegates will consider:

  • what is wellbeing, and the evidence behind why acting now will improve student outcomes and school results
  • the six main risks for workplace stress and lower wellbeing in schools
  • the one biggest challenge to staff wellbeing and how to address it
  • the high costs of poor wellbeing in an environment where budgets are lower in real terms, and how addressing it will have an impact on recruitment, retention, absence and outcomes
  • how to effectively measure current staff wellbeing, and use the results to create a collaborative, whole-staff solution
  • how to assist senior and middle leaders to self-assess their own behaviours and competencies against those proven to prevent and reduce staff stress
  • ensuring action addresses causes and not symptoms, and is onoing as part of your school development plan to deliver sustainable improvements and not quick fixes
