Updated JCQ guidance on the use of artificial intelligence (AI)

On 5 February 2024, JCQ published updated guidance on the use of AI, especially related to non-examined assessment (NEA) and coursework.

The guidance includes useful real examples of where students have failed to reference use of AI properly. Students are able to use AI to complete assessments, but they must do so by referencing it as set out in the guidance. We suggest that schools and colleges cross-reference their own AI policy/malpractice policy/citation advice against the new guidance.

Alongside the updated guidance, there are also posters for teachers and students, and editable slide decks for both teachers and students.

All the resources can be found here.
