A London-based charity with existing partners in the independent sector is seeking further independent schools to work with.
Family Group is a multi-family therapy intervention, offered in state primary schools to support children from families with multiple disadvantages to thrive in school. Independent schools in West London have part funded Family Group programmes since 2017, led by King’s House in Richmond, then Kensington Prep and St Paul’s Girls School.
The delivery organisation, registered charity Transgenerational Change Ltd (The School & Family Works), is based in Richmond. The charity partners 12 state primary schools across six London boroughs. Independent evaluations confirm remarkable outcomes. Like all third sector organisations, the charity is under tremendous financial pressure, while the need for their expert mental health support, particularly in under-resourced communities, is clearly rising.
By partnering Family Group, independent schools provide transformative support to some of the most disadvantaged children in their local communities.
