Countering digital and sexual violence

Schools and colleges have a responsibility to empower both students and staff to report instances of sexual violence and harassment, and to continuously work toward fostering a healthy school environment where such behaviours are challenged and not normalised. They also have a duty to educate students on digital literacy and protect them from online risks and harms. However, teachers frequently feel a lack of confidence in addressing these issues.

ASCL has worked in partnership with Tanya Horeck from Anglia Ruskin University, Jessica Ringrose from University College London, and Life Lessons, to create a new, comprehensive, and freely accessible online course for educators to tackle digital harms and image-based sexual violence. You can access the course here.
