The 2025 pay award for support staff employed under the NJC Green Book was agreed on 24 July. The award is for an increase of 3.2% on all NJC pay points 2 to 43 inclusive and on all pay points above the maximum of the pay spine but below deputy chief officer.
In addition, with effect from 1 April 2026, the deletion of pay point 2 from the NJC pay spine.
Employers are encouraged to implement the pay award as swiftly as possible, and the National Employers also recommend that if requested by an ex-employee to do so, employers should pay any monies due to that employee from 1 April 2025 to the employee’s last day of employment.

ASCL is pressing for business leaders to be treated in the same way as other senior leaders and to be brought within the auspices of the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document. We set this out in our
recent response to the government’s consultation on its planned support staff negotiating body.
