ASCL response to the consultaion on information sharing for public service delivery: expanding the information sharing powers in Part 5 (Chapter 1) of the Digital Economy Act 2017 to support passported benefits and reduce fuel poverty.

Whilst ASCL welcomes the proposed 2025 guidance we re-iterate the explicit request that this guidance must include colleges. Schools and colleges work with many of the same age students from age fourteen through to adults, so we would anticipate much of the content of the guidance for colleges being like that for schools but made appropriate to these different settings.

ASCL agrees with the conditions set out in new objectives that any information sharing must be to improve a public service to individuals and households. It must provide a benefit to individuals and households.
