ASCL speaks on behalf of its members. We have called on our post-16 and college members who are offering T levels to express their views on how these qualifications are progressing, what student numbers are like, and their plans going forward for T levels. Our members tell us that generally T levels have progressed well in some areas, such as education and early years, where the T level qualification is now established and very similar to the Advanced General Qualification (AGQ) in the same subject.
However, some of the T levels have not gone as well as others for several reasons, including where there is a wide range of specialisms, such as in health care and science, where student numbers are too low to run all the specialism or where placement opportunities are limited in the locality, so running a T level at scale is not possible.
