Skills England Skills Passport Survey

ASCL response to the Skills England Skills Passport Survey.

We strongly support efforts to improve coherence, transparency and progression across the post-16 landscape, particularly in a context where Skills England has identified clear skills gaps, regional disparities and mismatches between employer needs and workforce qualifications.

The concept of a skills passport has significant potential if it is designed to complement existing qualifications, simplify recognition of learning, and support both employer workforce planning and individual progression.

However, its success will depend on national consistency, interoperability, and an approach that reduces - rather than adds to - burden for employers, education providers and learners.
