Consultees, with the exception of the DfE, were united in their opposition to the public sector pay freeze.  We also raised concerns that there have been no assurances that this will only be for one year, as the DfE simply state in their evidence that ‘they will therefore revisit the pay policy in 2022 to 2023 once the economic outlook is clearer’.

We will be meeting with the STRB later this month to give further evidence.
