We are pleased to see that Michael Barber and Joel Klein are quoted: ‘You can mandate adequacy, but you cannot mandate greatness; it has to be unleashed.’ This is the central premise of ASCL’s Blueprint - our White Paper.

We are pleased that the Secretary of State has responded to the concerns voiced in our letter to her of 25 April and made adjustments to her proposals about compulsory academisation for all schools. The original proposal was out-of-kilter with a school-led system.
