Improving Teaching and Learning : A practical two-part framework

What are the most effective, evidence-informed steps leaders can take to improve teaching and learning across their setting, and what does this look like in practice?

High-quality teaching remains the most powerful lever for improving pupil outcomes, particularly for disadvantaged learners. Yet many leaders face the challenge of translating research into consistent, sustainable practice across departments, schools, or trusts.

This two-part webinar series offers a clear, structured and practical framework for improving teaching and learning at scale. Drawing on evidence from the EEF, CST and wider sector research, alongside real examples from successful schools and trusts, Jade Pearce will guide participants through a step-by-step model for meaningful improvement.

Session 1 will explore:

  • establishing a clear and shared teaching and learning framework
  • designing and delivering impactful professional development
  • embedding consistency in classroom practice

Session 2 will focus on:

  • the role of middle leadership in driving teaching and learning improvement
  • quality assurance and improvement processes
  • aligning appraisal systems with teaching and learning priorities
  • building a strong, sustainable culture centred on great teaching

Session 1 will take place on Tuesday 22 September, 3.45pm – 4.45pm.
Session 2 will take place on Thursday 1 October, 3.45pm – 4.45pm.
