With competing pressures on schools and colleges, it can be difficult to step back and ask whether the curriculum is genuinely making the difference leaders want it to. In the first of a three-part series, this webinar will help leaders take a purposeful look at their current curriculum offer and consider whether it reflects their vision, values and the needs of their learners and community.

As schools balance accountability expectations, changing learner needs and the wider purposes of education, curriculum remains central to strategic decision-making, inspection and improvement. Leaders need practical ways to evaluate what is working, identify where development is needed and focus their attention on the areas that will have the greatest impact.

The session will explore:

  • the characteristics of an effective, coherent and impactful curriculum offer
  • practical approaches for reviewing curriculum intent, implementation and impact
  • how to identify strengths, priorities and opportunities for further development

Participants will:

  • understand the key features of a coherent and impactful curriculum and what to look for when reviewing it.

  • use practical approaches to evaluate curriculum intent, implementation and impact and identify priorities for development.

  • reflect on whether the current curriculum reflects the school's vision, values and the needs of its learners and community.

3 February 2027, 3.30pm – 4.30pm

How can schools design a curriculum that stretches ambition while remaining adaptable, inclusive and achievable with the resources available? In the second of a three-part series, this webinar will support leaders to think strategically about curriculum design so that provision is purposeful from the outset, rather than having to respond reactively when challenges arise.

Increasing diversity in learner needs, alongside ongoing challenges around inclusion, SEND and workforce capacity, means schools are having to rethink how curriculum provision is designed and structured. Leaders need to balance ambition for all learners with the flexibility to respond effectively to individual needs and changing circumstances.

The session will explore:

  • the relationship between curriculum ambition, inclusion, learner need, workforce capacity and available resources
  • strategic approaches for designing ambitious, adaptive, and achievable curriculum models
  • how curriculum decisions can create greater flexibility and opportunity for all learners

Participants will:

  • understand how learner need, inclusion, workforce capacity and resources should inform curriculum design

  • apply strategic approaches to develop curriculum models that are ambitious, adaptive and achievable

  • consider how purposeful curriculum choices can create greater flexibility and opportunity for all learners

14 April 2027, 3.30pm – 4.30pm

You have your curriculum vision but can your timetable, staffing model and available expertise make it a reality? In the third of a three-part series, this webinar will help leaders connect strategic curriculum planning with the practical decisions that determine how that curriculum is delivered day to day.

Turning curriculum ambition into sustainable delivery requires leaders to consider staffing structures, workforce deployment, curriculum modelling and timetable design together. The session will focus on how leaders can maintain curriculum ambition while working within staffing constraints, competing demands and changing circumstances.

The session will explore:

  • the principles behind aligning curriculum priorities with staffing structures and timetabling decisions
  • practical approaches to workforce deployment, curriculum modelling, and timetable design
  • how to make sustainable operational choices that support the intended curriculum

Participants will:

  • understand the principles for aligning curriculum priorities with staffing structures, workforce capacity and timetabling decisions

  • apply practical approaches to curriculum modelling, workforce deployment, and timetable design
