The theme for this year’s ASCL Northern Ireland Annual Conference is Renewed Leadership. In an increasingly challenging environment for our school and college leaders, and where financial and other operational pressures are being managed alongside significant policy change, it is now more important than ever that our current and aspiring leaders have the tools at their disposal to navigate these challenges.
We will hear from Education Minister, Paul Givan MLA, who will provide an update on all aspects of the TransformED strategy, a key aspect of which is professional development.
Tackling challenges with recruitment and retention
We will take a closer look at the challenges with recruitment and retention with Professor Toby Greany who recently led on the Sustainable School Leadership project. This project considered approaches to the training, supply and retention of senior school leaders for primary and secondary schools in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland and how these approaches can be enhanced.
Practical workshops
We will also be holding workshops for leaders on how artificial intelligence can be used to support you in your role. For aspiring leaders, there will also be a workshop on the tools to help you succeed as you prepare for the next stage in your journey.
Further speakers will also be announced shortly.
Join us as we tackle the challenges in education in Northern Ireland together with renewed confidence and purpose.
