Leading On - How assistive technologies can empower the next wave of inclusive classroom practice

There has never been a better time to focus on inclusion and technology in schools. With a better understanding of creating accessible curriculums and classrooms for all our learners, from primary through secondary and into 16+, we know assistive technology is more than a nice to have - it is life changing. And it doesn’t need to cost a penny! There are accessibility tools built into common platforms and apps, hidden in plain sight! Empowering teachers with assistive technology training transforms education from 'one-size-fits-all' to 'everyone succeeds', building confidence and independence at all ages and stages.

With a renewed Ofsted focus on inclusion and inclusive practice, Assistive Technologies can make learning accessible to children who have a range of additional needs (e.g. Neurodivergent conditions that are sometimes hard to spot across the academic ability range, because of masking and spikey profiles, such as Dyslexia and ADHD; children and families with English as an Additional Language; low literacy levels because of Developmental Language Disorder, etc.). Microlink designed and delivered two DfE-funded programmes to explore the use of AT in mainstream classrooms. This webinar will describe the impact, and opportunities for your school to join the learning journey.
