Making budget assumptions work for you _ forecasting 2023/24 and beyond

Three year budget planning is a requirement for all types of school. The planning and forecasting process will almost always demand that leaders  make assumptions on a range of key income and expenditure indicators. Whether you are budget planning for an academy trust or a maintained school, the same principles apply.

Continuing economic uncertainty in a landscape of already tight budgets  can make this task feel even more challenging. Strong financial leadership of the process enables pro-active decision making, rather than a re-active response to unforeseen financial vulnerability.
