The Governing Body of The UCL Academy is actively seeking an exceptional Principal to champion our commitment to providing an outstanding education and realising the full potential of each student.

The UCL Academy is a mixed 11-19 Academy in the London Borough of Camden. We pride ourselves on high academic aspirations and a caring and inclusive environment. Our iconic state-of-the-art campus offers access to the latest innovations in classroom technology. Our students are able to take advantage of our sponsor University College London’s world class facilities from their very first day at the Academy. Staff from both institutions work collaboratively to ensure that our students are exposed to university life throughout their time at the Academy.

As Principal, you will play a pivotal role in achieving our strategic objectives, ensuring exceptional academic outcomes for our students, including within our vibrant Sixth Form, in an inclusive school that reflects the diversity of the local community.

The Role
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the Academy provides an exceptional learning environment characterised by outstanding pastoral support and a commitment to continual improvement. Key responsibilities will include: 
 
  • Collaborating with the leadership team to ensure effective management and continuous development 
  • Ensuring financial stability to provide a secure foundation for educational initiatives
  • Determining, implementing, and reviewing the curriculum to ensure breadth, balance and relevance for all students
  • Establishing and maintaining ambitious expectations for all students, including those with additional and special educational needs and disabilities
  • Promoting the health and wellbeing of all students, staff and volunteers
  • Ensuring a safe environment for all students and staff
  • Fostering a supportive atmosphere and promoting exceptional opportunities for all students and staff
