Building resilience through challenge

Since the devastating earthquakes of 2012 the town of Kaiapoi has been supporting our young people and families to get through tough times and build resilience. The skills and strategies used then helped though other challenges to come including an arson, losing a member of a school family in a terrorist shooting, and through COVID-19 lockdowns, remote learning, and reintegration back to school. The constant through all of these were caring staff, strong Values and Beliefs, letting children express their feelings in ways they were comfortable with, and having strong clear guidance for staff to support their own resilience and the resilience of children in their care.

A Toolkit for Coaching Leaders to Implement Change

Have you ever felt at a loss as to how to set out a change strategy or uncertain about the next steps to take? Coaching a leader to learn the change process will develop their skills, confidence, and resilience and importantly benefit the long-term performance of the organisation. It is about questioning and reflecting. Through coaching a leader, you will ensure they are asking the right questions. Using coaching is a learning opportunity for both parties. The benefits enhance involvement and ownership of the learning process.
