Leading On: Neuroscience, norms and outcomes: Hemisphere’s innovative approach to racial inclusion | A three-part series

This three-part webinar series is designed to equip educators, school and college leaders, and multi-academy trusts with the knowledge and tools to create more inclusive educational environments for students from ethnic minority backgrounds.

Led by Yasmina Koné from Hemisphere Education and expert practitioners, the series begins with a deep dive into Hemisphere’s cutting-edge research on how neuroscience and societal norms impact students' experiences and outcomes, with a particular focus on Black and South Asian children.

In the second webinar, we share real-world case studies from leading schools whose inclusion strategies have had a positive impact on outcomes and wellbeing.

The final session focuses on developing a unified, consistent approach to inclusion across multi-academy trusts, providing a framework that empowers every member of staff at every school or college to create an environment where every child can thrive.

In this webinar, we delve into the latest research from Rare, the multi-award-winning experts in race equity behind Hemisphere Education. Yasmina Koné will be joined by Suzanne Munday, Headteacher at Langley Park School for Boys, and Fabian de Fabiani, Senior Assistant Headteacher at Townley Grammar School, who will share practical case studies from their schools. These educators will discuss how they have used Hemisphere’s research and training to create more inclusive environments, address systemic challenges, and improve wellbeing and outcomes for students of Black and South Asian heritage. Attendees will gain actionable strategies and inspiration for fostering inclusivity within their own schools.

This webinar is suitable for leaders within multi-academy trusts (MATs) who are committed to fostering inclusivity across their network of schools. Building on insights from previous sessions, this discussion will focus on developing and implementing consistent, research-informed strategies that ensure all schools within a MAT are aligned in their approach to racial inclusion.

Yasmina Koné, Deputy Lead of Hemisphere Education, will host a conversation with experts in educational leadership, Michelle Bernard, Director of Inclusion, Equalities and Parental Engagement, and Beth Tanton, SEND Lead from The Compass Partnership of Schools, exploring the challenges and opportunities of scaling inclusive practices across multiple institutions.

Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of how to create and sustain cohesive, equitable environments for students of diverse backgrounds across their trust.
